Danny Long's Piano Studio

Danny is a classically trained pianist with 20 years of performance experience and 10 years of teaching experience. He has performed regularly in local churches such as Grace Church in Lanham, MD and Bay Area Community Church in Annapolis, MD, as well as spending a year abroad as the Music Director of the St. Paul Cultural Center in Antalya, Turkey. He is an experienced teacher, with over 10 years of private and classroom instruction.

Danny is a versatile pianist, proficient in all major genres including classical, pop, sacred, and jazz. He is equally comfortable in the worlds of Beethoven and Beyonce, Haydn and Hillsong, Mozart and Maroon 5.

Danny’s teaching philosophy is “Play What You Love.” He believes music is an incredible gift that can provide a lifetime of personal enrichment and fulfillment, but he also believes that a person’s capacity for enjoyment will be in direct proportion to their technical ability. Danny therefore utilizes a hybrid approach in his piano instruction. He teaches students how to play their favorite songs, but he also provides a broad foundation of classical instruction so that students have the technical expertise to master any kind of music. Danny teaches ages 7 and up, from beginner to advanced, and every lesson is customized to the individual goals and preferences of the student.
